The GR63, a 63-foot fully electric offshore catamaran, has completed its sea trials in the Gulf of Thailand. Powered entirely by sun and wind, with methanol fuel cells as backup, the vessel carries no diesel.
The trials confirmed the platform’s core figures: 31 tonnes lightship, 282 kWh of batteries, a 14-knot top speed and around 10 kW at cruising speed. Designed to CE Category A, with certification in progress.
The GR63 was created and built by Gilles Reigner, PhD. Naval architecture by Fortabat Yacht Design; propulsion and energy management by ePropulsion.
